What started it all…it’s Dot’s fault.

A friend of mine sent me a Facebook message suggesting that the best way to keep her happy was to stop what I was doing and immediately start a blog on Real Estate trends.  She went on to explain that, while she is not currently in the market for a new house, she was incredibly interested in ideas for renovating and personalizing her own home based on what I was finding most often in the updated or flipped homes on the market. I sell houses for a living, so the explanation was, while understandable, not exactly what I was looking to do with my afternoon.  But, Dot’s right, I do need a way to keep my clients, friends, and people with a general interest in what’s going on in the North Texas market, updated, and, apparently, happy.  What better way than a blog?

So, who am I to write about the current state of affairs and new trends in North Texas Real Estate? Well, I’m a full time, hard working, Texas Realtor®. Real Estate is more than a job for me, I didn’t fall into it, it was a deliberate career choice.  I’m not kidding, when I left a very lucrative career with the Executive Sales team of a prominent cable company to sell real estate (as an independent contractor, on my own, no team, no steady pay check), management thought I was -and HR flat out called me – crazy. I guess, in a way, I am.  I am passionate about the work I do for my clients.  I love them, I love the industry, and I’m not sorry about it.

Welcome!  I’m Emerald, and I’m glad we’ve found each other.  It is my sincerest hope that you will gain insight, inspiration, a bit of education, and even a laugh or two while reading through the upcoming posts.  If there’s a question you have about Real Estate, feel free to leave it in the comments section and I’ll do my best to get a post out to answer it.
